This morning after I dropped the kids off at school, I went past my favorite horse farm as I was kind of in the area. I am stalking it because last year I missed the color change and was sooo bummed. This year, I want to catch it in time. They are just starting so I will need to go back again next week.
The lighting this morning was amazing as was the fact that the horses were out grazing in the field (you can see them on the fence line).
I was pleased to catch this golden light and loved how it emphasized the golden tones in the leaves.
Happy weekend, my friends. I am so hoping that I can get some sleep tonight, despite the slumber party. I wonder if I could get the girls to enjoy a cup of Sleepytime Tea with me?
This is gorgeous! I´m so jealous of you.. to live around ,this beautiful place. Please don´t miss the changing colors this year lol And show us every step of the way :)
@adamj Stop. You sound like my son. He's always asking me, "Is it ok for you to go in that field, mom?" "Are you doing the right thing, mom?" "Can you be arrested for that, mom?" I didn't stroll around the property...just stood at the end of the driveway. Thanks for stressing me out;-). Just kidding. Happy weekend to you. I'm still thinking about your description of creeping around with 365 at home and realizing how accurate that is. I find that it is my version of porn. Happy creeping;-).
@amandal Amazing right? I mean, do I really have to apologize for spending a little time editing and posting a photo? I basically do the majority of my commenting while I am at work, like right now. Geez. :)
@adamj It can be a real huge time sucker. I know. I was making a full time freakin' job out of it (and not getting paid). They just want to be with us. Is that so bad? I just pretty much avoid it on weekends. Mike started doing it but is not really active or into it. Maybe she can join you?
What a lovely shot.love the light.looking forward to watching the leaves turn.Have fun at the slumber party! Just give up on the idea of sleep. It will be easier that way.:)
Lovely light casting those gentle shadows and bokeh. I can really see why you would want to return to this spot, time and time again probably. Lovely shot!
Lovely light. I know what you mean about stalking the colors. I've never been so aware.
My wife Pam keeps me in check, and I'm lucky that she enjoys the daily election of shot. She has a great eye, and often leads me to success with something I'm "meh" about.
Wonderful light and a lovely path. Would be fun to see the progress of color. We get lovely color here, but we have lots of evergreens also, so it is not nearly as spectacular as back east...though the green and colors look beautiful together it is not as dramatic as the burst of color you all get.! Love the fence also.
Ah thank you, kind friends. Stay tuned for the change of color. I hope like hell I don't miss it this year! Last year, there was nothing (all green) and I went back 2 weeks later and the leaves were done and trees bare. Nutty.
@squamloon Jim, she sounds like a keeper.:) Thanks for your comments!
This is such a favorite place of mine. I wish there were more like it around. So hope to make it back for the dramatic change of leaves. Thanks so much for your comments!
@amandal we have 'winter' - 18-25ºc and summer - 25-33ºc. There is one kind of tree that drops its leaves after they turn red but that is at the end of winter, go figure!
@thirtysevenways Weird...and I only know f and not c. I'll have to look up the conversion. We get to the 20's f in the winter and 90's f in the summer.
@thirtysevenways Looked that up. You have a very temperate climate. We get much colder in the winter. Like 40 degrees! And hotter in the summer, too. Sheesh.
