Decisions, decisions.. Which cloud photo to upload! Decided on this one in the end, although I'm guessing there's just a bit too much sky and not enough ground... But I like the contrast of the yellow rapeseed, blue sky and white clouds.
Drove down to Hampshire for the day to see my parents. Took them out for a nice meal then a drive trhough some country lanes, stopping off at Old Winchester Hill and tiny villages like West Meon, and Hambledon to grab a snap here, or a snap there... wanted to take more pics than I did, but it wasn't easy to pull over all the time.
Great clouds today... hence this upload. Took some nice pics before we ended our drive down by the beach watching kite-surfers ride the waves.
Will upload more to shutterfly but have to tidy then up (have lots of marks on lense/mirror which needs sorting out)
Well, Andy, when I saw this, (and read what you wrote) I thought, "Great way to show off the beautiful clouds!"...and besides, I did a nearly identical one the other day http://365daysintheyear.shutterfly.com/1282 I just loved the clouds (though I think yours are even better!) and I thought a very low horizon line was a good way to show them off without pointing the camera to the heavens. It's fun to see we were of a like mind!
Beautiful sky! I love the combination of the white, blue and yellow. And the composition is just right - the way you have the horizon low in the shot really emphasizes the sky...and because the cloud pattern is so complex and beautiful, it really works.
I personally think you have just the right amount of ground in the photo. It is a beautiful contrast to the blue of the sky, especially with those trees. I Nicely done
Oh contraire I think it has just the right amount of field to show off and give perspective to the sky! Incredible cloud pattern and I like the line of trees too.
I love this - I really like big sky pictures with a low horizon - I have a bit of a thing about clouds and enjoy boring my children with discussions of their formations
Nice photo!
Enjoy the airshow - it was on yesterday too, southend is chaos and they've closed carparks. Best to try the shopping carparks and walk down. We spent an hour looking for somewhere nearer!!
Thanks everyone, I wasn't sure about the low horizon but am pleased you think it's ok. Have been looking forward to a day when the clouds were good - was lucky to be out and about at the time - more here if anyone's interested http://andycphotos.shutterfly.com/234#233
FANTASTIC clouds . I am personally you glad you had lots of sky in this photo as it let me see more of the clouds -- it was, after all, the clouds that are the most beautiful feature of your pic (in my eyes).
