The Tower & The Glass Testicle by andycoleborn

The Tower & The Glass Testicle

I've lived in London for 21 years but have still never been in to the Tower of London, nor Buckingham Palace or up Tower Bridge. .

Seen them hundreds of times but have never got around to being a tourist in the place live..!!! One day I suppose I'll get around to it..

Took this shot after work - Not inspired today so this is all I took. For those not familiar, the round glass building in the background is City Hall deigned by Norman Foster and is in Southwick, Sarf London. Or as Ken Livingston once called it - The Glass Testicle!!
!!! I had to read that twice to make sure I wasn't imagining it. Too funny! I love this photo

nice shot andy... is that a siege engine?? A little while ago they were advertising that "be a tourist in your own city" thing. That said, I AM a tourist here (just long term tourist) but you should DEFINATELY check the tower of london out

Andy, I once lived near San Francisco, and I told myself that now I can go to the opera anytime. But I never did. People pay good money to go to London to see all the sights, so please do it for us that haven't made it yet!

I think it's a simple trebuchet.. there was also a few targets so guess there must be a medieval weaponry display/show... But you are right, I really need to get out and explore the "touristy" bits of London

I really love this shot! It's so... drab and rainy. Just like how I always picture London! Beautiful with the modern aspects sitting side by side with the ancient structures! It's just great.

Hay-fever....I now use New Era brand. It is made in UK and homoeopathic. ( spell check hates that word! ). Two summers ago I used 3 containers and this summer gone didn't finish 2! Love the stuff. $15 here so about 7pounds I guess there ( no pounds symbol on pc ). The testicle is different to the gerkin isn't it?

Ed
Darrell - If you can't tell the difference between a testicle and a gerkin, then I'm not eating at your place ...! (Insert smiley here)
