Caught Sangeeta off guard this evening, deeply engrossed in something on the TV. Not the best photo ever, but it will have to do.
High winds the day before had toppled over a large potted tree in my girlfriend’s garden. I can’t stand the tree and secretly hoped it had received serious damage so I could get rid of it.. Unfortunately, all it did was fall onto our lovingly tendered tomato and chili plants, squashing a few of them… I lifted the tree up and rested it against the side of the house and will sort it out properly over the weekend. Think I’ll half bury the pot which should make the plant more stable.
Has been wet, windy and miserable in London and have noticed come 8pm it’s almost dark!!! Think we’ve seen the last of the sun for a while… Unless September surprises us and we have an Indian summer.
I’m sure, when I think back to my school days, that September was always nice… Perhaps I'm seeing my youth through rose tinted glasses!!!
This is a lovely picture Andy......she's very pretty but i guess you know that!! :-) I bet it wasn't the Spurs match that had her attention! lol Horrid weather I agree and yes......when we went back to school wasn't it still warm? I remember............blah blah!!
Great shot. No you're right, September was always sunny. At least the first couple of weeks when school started. I'm still hopeful of an Indian summer. I never really give up till October!
What a perfectly marvelous candid of Sangeeta! I'm so glad you shared her with us; she's a lovely girl! I found your caption especially touching today Andy...perhaps a bit whistful, whiting what so many of us are feeling. More than the leaves falling in the yard, I'm watching the days fall away with every post on this site. Pass me the rose-coloured glasses...I'm wishing to be hopeful, too!
LOL. Vik - If I said that (once she'd stopped laughing) she'd want to know what I was after/or what I had done wrong... (Although isn't it named after American Indians? So guess it should be I hope for a Native American Summer....)
Steve, yeah, had to show the pic once taken and she quite likes it.
Cherrill - def wasn't the Spuds game... think it was that prog on BBC1 about all the food we throw away because it doesn't quite look perfect...
I think this is a lovely portrait - natural shots like this are so much nicer than posed. Yeah, I'm hoping for that great september too - you're right, they DID used to be sunny in the olden days - just when it was time to go back to school the sun would come out!
