Had the day off to hit the shops and get all my Christmas shopping done and dusted in one go today, so after a little lay in, I made my way through the fog to Bluewater.
As I mentioned, it was really foggy today so I stopped off at Greenhithe in Kent and took some pics of the Thames. I spotted these two men fishing at the end of the slipway and thought it would make a decent shot. Got lucky with the ship passing.
As for shopping - I spent 6 hours in Bluewater, not all shopping for presents I might add, some time was spent eating and taking regular coffee breaks plus I also spent some time in a camera shop checking out the equipment.
Am thinking about a 50mm prime lens and have dropped plenty of hints - after trying it, I think I had better practice a bit more using manual as opposed to auto focus as the lens I'll need (for both my D40 and the works D5000) will be the manual only lens.
Not sure if this is depressing or not, but bought my Dad a jumper, liked it so bought myself the same...!!! Hmmm..... sign of getting old or as Sangeeta said, just means Dad has young tastes...
Apologies for not commenting much lately, just been a bit busy...
Wonderful capture...and there's nothing wrong with getting old. Right? I think we should say that we are gettin experience instead of getting old. haha! It sounds like you enjoyed your day off.
That's my kind of shopping trip. I usually keep stopping off for food and coffee too. Ha ha. I always like how fishermen will come out regardless of the weather.
Nice bleak shot - sums up yesterday's weather. Isn't that always the way - you go out Xmas shopping and just end up finding Xmas presents for yourself ...
Love this pier shot. Great composition. Sounds like a successful shopping day. I also like to shop stop and have coffee, shop and stop and eat. Only way I can do it. The father-son jumper made me laugh. I am going with the father is young at heart!
This is a lovely shot, wow shopping for 6 hours, womans dream man, and camara shopping too.!!!!I hope your hint works for you, if not there is always the sales in Jan.
