Ok, this is no where near being in the same league as Bill's fantastic shots ( http://365project.org/bill_d/365/2011-01-23), but I'm fairly pleased with this as it was my first attempt at photography birds in flight...
I was off work today so took advantage of the clear blue skies for a wander along the river for an hour or so - was one of those lovely crisp winter's days today.
I ended up walking past the local bird reserve - dotted about are feeding tables so I waited a couple of minutes to see if there would be any action.
I increased the shutter speed but was still some distance away so there was some vibration using the full zoom. Despite this, I snapped a few half-decent shots of the birds flying in or out, but settled on this one because to the fact there are two different birds in this (plus another chap in the reeds waiting his turn)..
I've tried this last winter, and it was sooo difficult! This is so much better than my own poor attempts! And it's cute to see the little one waiting in the reeds. :-)
