Took my new toy out for a walk around the local bird reserve this afternoon... Didn't shoot any birds, but did photograph a few butterflies..
When I was young, we all had butterfly nets and use to catch loads, red admirals, peacocks, cabbage whites, little blue ones that I cannot remember what were called...
But nowadays, apart from cabbage whites, you don't seem to see that many..
Mixture of bright warm sun and heavy downpours today...
Just noticed, have set the date wrong on the camera..
cool shot - agree - we used to have a garden full of butterflies when I was a kid and I used to "rescue"them and even grew a few from caterpillars (!!!) - haven't seen many about at all over recent years
...blue tortoise shell? been massive decline in them flutterbyes due to intensive farming/pesticides/millenium bugs and BinLadens.
HI mate, least you got a point.
@sleepdozer57 haha yeah, reckon the taliban must have something to do with it... you might be right on the butterfly too..
yeah, decent point, heard some of the Leeds game (not happy with your lot losing to that team from down the road)... Heard Brown was his typical fouling self...
@phil_howcroft cheers Phil, this was the first time I'd photographed a butterfly, just don't see many these day.. @sleepdozer57 long, long season ahead eh???!!
