This is a bit of a touristy shot, of a fella that sits all day at Mehrangarh Fort, Jodphur, posing for a few ruppees.. But having taken it and paid the going rate of 50 ruppees (about 45p), I may as well do him the service of using the photo... Plus he does have a great beard...!
The fort is magnificent and the city is well deserving of its Blue City title..
We only had a little over 2 days in Jodphur - it's a place I hope to visit again one day and spend a great deal longer next time..
Happy memories. We were there over ten years ago. All I wanted was a clear shot of the buildings, no photogenic Sikhs, no tourists. We paid of course for a few compulsory shots, but then I found that I could get these guys to break into a run if they saw that I was photographing a blank area, so Liz would lure them away for me.
This is a fine 'iconic' shot.
