Lake Mungo by ankers70

Lake Mungo

Looking across the now dry bed of Lake Mungo from the edge of the 'Walls of China' (see yesterday's post).

Some 60,000 years ago, the Willandra lake system was full of water and abundant life. Lake Mungo would have been 10-15 metres deep with a surface area of about 200 square kilometres ( http://www.visitmungo.com.au/mungo-timeline).

The lakes dried out after the last ice age becoming what they are today.
A lovely scene , Thanks for follow Suzanne

It's the most awe-inspiring landscape with so much to see and understand. Thankyou all for your comments.
