When it was completed in 1931, the 34-storey building was the tallest building in the British Empire. The main banking chamber is to be marvelled at with beautifully detailed vaulted ceilings, of which this photo only shows a part, modelled after Rome's Baths of Caracella
Wow - absolutely magnificent. Beautiful capture! That ceiling is just amazing, as are the window arches and the chandelier. Interesting spelling of the words providence and industry - adds a bit of Roman flair.
