Above 250 Collins Street, Howey House, formerly the Lyric House at 250 Collins Street was built in 1930 and designed by A & K Henderson. Melbourne’s premier piano retailer moved into the building and described it as ‘an architectural representation of the Spirit of Music’.
The building now houses Dymocks Book Store, and is is on the site of the Coles Book Arcade, in the 1880s and 1890s, the world's largest bookstore ( https://www.museumoflost.com/coles-book-arcade/).
