Calling Out

~ I am mortified by the prospect of becoming hopelessly trapped in someone else's story.

It took much calling out to find you
were you busy with a troubled soul
usually it is just a whisper
for you to let me know you're there

I was worried you had gone for good
but as I wrote these words
I felt you with a rush and
saw your reassuring smile

Caught between two worlds
that has always been our trial
but our souls well they're connected
and will always find the way

Reflective words, Annie. I empathize. They remind me in a way of an era when I was busy writing (or attempting to write) fiction and would wake in the night to receive instructions from the characters. I found it very cathartic, bringing out inner thoughts I didn't know I had!
