Adult Fungus-eating ladybird emerging from pupa

I am starting off February garden with images of the insects and bugs around.

The pupa remains still, attached to a leaf, throughout the pupal stage. The ladybug's body undergoes a remarkable transformation, directed by special cells called histoblasts. Their lifecycle is known as complete metamorphosis.
A great timing and capture - very educational !
