If the walls could talk...

Hjelmerstald is the name of one of the oldest streets in Aalborg (the city I live in). This small street was founded back in 1600 and is situated right in the middle of Aalborg city - it's surrounded by all the usual city life with shops and office buildings on all four sides... On this street though it's almost like if time stands still... The houses here are all around 2-300 years old but all been renovated and people are still living here.

I like to take walk down this small street... is like getting a breath of fresh air and an opportunity to take a short break from the rush of the city.

Gear used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 + M42 to M4/3 Adapter + Helios 44-2 f2/58mm.
Your were so fortunate to get a shot of the empty street. Although a shot with people would be good too:) Love this and really like the back story.

Those cobbles are wonderful...although you'd need to be very skilled to
win at marbles!

@365karly1 Thank you for your comment... I had to wait quite a while to catch a moment where there were no people passing through :-)...but the sun was shining and it was such a lovely afternoon and I really enjoyed the moment :-)

@s4sayer Playing marbles here?... Yes, that would be a challenge :-)... When I was younger and going out with friends I remember passing through this street wearing high heels... not an easy task either :-D.

@purdey Thank you, Sharon... I really like these old places around town... Sometimes for a split second I can almost see and feel what it must have looked like 200 years ago... Life back then was so much different from what it is now...

A terrific capture of what looks to be a traditional, vintage street scene. I like it in color to capture the red house that pops.
