I'm totally addicted to my Helios lenses and have already built up a small collection, so when I found a forum online talking about simple modifications I just had to try one of them out.
It's a really simple operation since all you have to do is to unscrew the front and reverse the front element, so I ordered the proper tools for unscrewing the front element, and it really was very simple.
When I was finished reassembling it I immediately had to take it for a spin in our garden :-)... and I must say, that I really like the effect - very swirly and almost tunneling if the object is right... I'm looking forward to playing some more with this modified Helios lens.
Gear used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 + M42 to M4/3 Adapter + Helios 44-2 f2/58mm (modified, reversed front element).
