The name Dandelion originates from French "Dent de Lion" which means "The Lion's Tooth", and it's symbolic meaning is associated with the Sun and the astrological fire sign of Leo - and I'm a Leo :-), maybe that's one of the reasons I've always loved Dandelions... I love the bright yellow flowers with their determination to grow just about anywhere. And once the flowers have finished blooming they turn into these fluffy puffballs of seeds which are equally beautiful to look at.
When I was a child I often picked these fluffballs up, closed my eyes, and made a wish while blowing the seeds up the air...
