My grandmothers old vase

I'm playing around with my Lensbaby Velvet 56 today… normally when I use it I tend not to choose the widest aperture, but today I want to play around with the beautifully soft and hazy bokeh that this lens is caplable of producing.

I chose this target, my grandmothers old vase and took in a couple of roses from our garden... I think it turned out okay... and I like the dreamy feel of the photo.

I cherish this tiny minty blue vase with the golden stripes, I remember it standing on my grandparents dinner table when we had dinner ... it's one of the few things I have from my late grandmother, and I remember her picking flowers in their garden and arranging them in this the vase... there's lots of lovely memories is held up in this tiny thing :-).

Gear used Olympus OM-D E-M5 + Lensbaby Velvet 56 f1.6/56mm.
Beautiful, beautiful image. That Velvet 56 is on my wish list. I've had the mouse hovering over the "purchase" button a couple of times... one of these days I'll just do it@ If my images turn out as nicely as yours has here, I'd be very happy.

@lyndemc Thank you so much for your lovely comment, I really appreciate it. And I'm sure you will never regret buying the Velvet 56 - I have a lot of Lensbaby stuff, and the Velvet 56 is by far my favorite... it's such a joy to play with :-).

@atchoo Oh my, your comment about the Velvet 56 will likely make that "Buy" button get hit next time. Thanks so much for the input on the lens. I too have a number of Lensbabys (Composer Pro with Sweet 35 & 50 Optic, and Edge 80 Optic, along with a couple of macro rings...) but I really think I NEED that Velvet lens. :)
