Hydrangea by atchoo

Hydrangea

When we purchased our home a couple of years ago this beauty was tucked away in a far corner of our garden - since I love Hydrangeas (they remind me of my grandparents garden :-)) we decided to move it to a more open space - we wanted to be able to see it from our living room windows and we also wanted to give the plant some more room to grow.
We dug a big hole and put in plenty of soil especially for Hydrangeas, and then we moved it. We watered it almost daily for a few weeks, but for a long time it looked as if it wasn't going to make it... Then last year I was hoping again to see it's beautiful flowers, but there were no flowers at all and there were only a few green leaves telling us that the plant was still alive. But this year - hooray - it's flowering once again - I'm very happy that it's thriving once again and generously sharing it's beautiful flowers with us :-).

Gear used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 + M42 to M4/3 Adapter + Helios 44-2 f2/58mm.
Such a beautiful image of this long-anticipated bloom. Love the softness, the way open blooms encircle the buds yet to unfurl. Fav!
