Today's shot is a closeup of the big steel sculpture placed just outside KMD, where I work (at least for a few days more - I have a new and exciting job waiting for me :-)).
The scupture is made in 2007 by Danish artist, Lone Høyer Hansen. Its made of corten steel and glass, and its name is"Forvandling" (in English "Transition"). I like the weathered look of this particular type of steel.
Corten steel is a weathering steel. Weathering refers to the chemical composition of these steels, allowing them to exhibit increased resistance to atmospheric corrosion compared to other steels. This is because the steel forms a protective layer on its surface under the influence of the weather.
