In late spring this year we were given a large magnolia tree by our lovely neighbours. They were remodelling their garden, and didn't have room for the tree anymore. I really love magnolias, so I was more than thrilled to have the tree, and now it's thriving in the middle of our garden in full view from our living room windows. I almost can't wait until spring to see the large pink and white tulip-like flowers on this tree. The tree is still interesting to look at though (at least from a photographers point of view :-)), because the leaves have now started to wither making them look almost like they have been burnt on the tips...
