through our remodel, i have been on a treasure hunt (well, i'm always on the lookout for treasure, but...) and today i found another 'jewel'! this lovely, chippy, faded find is the new (old) newel post for our stairs. i'd much rather search for already-loved, unique pieces--for this project to date i've salvaged the balusters for the stairs, a window, two chandeliers, two doors & the hardware, a pair of sconces, a beam for a mantel-shelf, brackets, and now a newel post. i can't wait to see it all come together...SOON!
