This lovely yellow topped mushroom popped up in front of the barn. I can see another ready to emerge soon as well. I think this is an Amanita mushroom, poisonous, in the process of maturing. Not one that should be picked and savored like the Chanterelles we have enjoyed in Sweden. Basketfuls cleaned, cooked in butter and served on toast after a day of foraging in the deep Swedish forests. A very tasty memory.
