This chap has been very busy at the feeder. The Eastern Downy Woodpecker is the smallest of our woodpeckers, an all season garden bird at Dogcorner Cottage. An acrobat with a very characteristic rising and falling style of flying. You often hear them drumming on forest trees. He was giving me quite a look with my 300mm lens. This photo is cropped as well to showcase his handsome feathers and face.

For the Record,
This day came in sunny, warm and dry. More heat on the way this weekend.

Great shot. Had a scare today. I fell going from the wheelchair to the car at the doctor. I don't seem to have hurt anything but my dignity.

@joansmor Oh, Joan!! Did anyone help you, or did you have to manage to get up alone? Falling now is my greatest fear. I'm perhaps too confident at 3 months out. I have to remind myself to be more careful. I hope you have only hurt your dignity. x
