I love the look of the lilies ,but unfortunately the pollen & strong aroma sets me off with hay-fever symptoms These were a gift at Easter & had to be banned to the other room which I do not use very often !!
Beautiful colours, love the image! We had to stop buying/growing lilies when we had cats as the pollen can be lethal to them, such a shame because they are stunning flowers.
@sturnus Thank you Carol , I was not aware that lily pollen can be lethal to cats -- something new to learn every day . How can such beauty be so cruel !!!
They are so beautiful but not only allergenic but deadly dye! I had a lovely lemon jacket on and someone passed me some lilies to hold and the dye came off and even the drycleaners couldn't get it off!
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie , I know the pollen stains are lethal For flower arranging competition work ,you are expected to cut off the stamens with the pollen sacks to avoid discolouring the petals -- but to me this is sacrilege as it radically lessens the flower's life (and this endeth the lesson !! )
@hudamor Thank you Huda for your kind comment & for your sympathy towards my allergy --it is a bit of a pain as I love my garden & flowers ,however over the years one gets selective of her flowering plants & tries to avoid the ones that cause problems
