Christmas Tree by beryl

Christmas Tree

December 1st -Tis the season - whether Christian or otherwise for all to start preparing for Christmas .
I have restrained from my house decorating till today and for the next 24 days I shall enjoy and reminisce Christmases past and new !
Time for Gary to get the decorations down from the attic -- each year I seem to forget what I have got up there - so it is a pleasant surprise as I open the boxes - the decorations have become less over the years and I have become more selective in what I put up . This photo was taken last week in the garden centre ! -- a pink theme , but not for my house - I love the more traditional Christmas colours !
Such a pretty tree with its pink decorations I love to browse the shop trees to see their ideas even though some are a bit weird sometimes. It is lovely to get out our own decorations and each item has a memory attached to it as we take it out of the box. Fav

It's a lovely display, but I prefer the more traditional colours too.

Such a pretty display. The retailers try very hard to put on a good show.

I agree with you, Beryl. I also prefer the traditional colours. we pick a tree at a the tree farm and burn real wax candles starting on Christmas Eve.

I went in the garage today....looking for the thing I have up in the window...no sign of it if course but found a box of stuff that should have been in the container! Those removal men got quite muddled up...left the wrong things & took stuff I wanted....never mind we aren’t doing much this year....I have less & less up but hopefully it’s quality not quantity. Lots of Christmas decorations in gardens round here....nicely done though...pretty not gaudy...there is a difference!

Lovely but I think I like traditional. This year if it were up to me I wouldn’t bother, no family, no get together, it’s just too dangerous.

@craftymeg - I agree re the safety pov - but still a little reminder of Christmas is good - I shall put up few decorations , my fire optic little tree ( if it still works !!) and my twiggy tree in the conservatory !

A lovely capture of the retailer’s display. I’m in the traditional camp of red, green and gold. I’ve put lights up outside for the children who visit the park opposite... but I’m still debating whether to put up the interior decorations!

Beautiful shot and nice selection of decorations around the Christmas tree. We are all ready for Christmas even if restricted our house decorations this year. Christmas brings joy and we shouldn't let the opportunity to pass by without enjoying it.
