My pride and joy - I had admired this lily at my SIL garden. and I was promised a plant at the end of the season when she could split it when repotting. - That was pre-covid !! What a surprise when my niece arrived a month or so ago, from her mother's in N Wales with this pot of beautiful lilies for me.
The 1st of September, a chill in the air, Autumn is anon!! This morning I woke up to a heavy dew, and condensation to the outside of my windows!
N.B. info for @susiemc and anyone else interested.-I am informed that the proper name of this is Eucomis Comosa. A tender plant, easy to grow, flowers in late summer , early autumn. Water well in summer, likes plenty of sun Plant in large pot in spring,, move outside once the danger of frost has passed, Does not like winter wet, so best to move indoors in Autumn, , keep dry till Spring,
It's a beauty Beryl with its many spires of gorgeous flowers. Does it have a scent? Yes it's a little chilly here too and we have some big black clouds starting to roll up but that might save me having to water the garden.
I don't think I've seen one around here- but it does remind me just a little bit of a Yucca Plant with those tall spikes of blossoms. I'm glad to see it has taken a liking to your garden! Good shot.
I have one , a darker colour & younger & I love it too. a link.........
