Are they some kind of ducks they came along in ibig whoosh -- not gliding and smooth swimming but whooping ( if you understand what I mean !!) in and out of the water at great speed . Nature always brings me problems when on holidays as I always want to identify all I see !! Help -- I wonder if Graham @thresheg knows ?
NB - problem solved , I never thought of asking Sue,@susiemc , for her advise Thanks Sue , for identifying them as Goosanders , Have googled them to find more info --interesting !
