Pioneer Woman and Son

Went by the Fairbanks Pioneers Home (assisted living) to drop off some jigsaw puzzles and books for the residents' enjoyment and saw this great statue out front. I had never been by there before, as it is a bit off the main highway. It is in a lovely setting of birch trees on 16 acres. I hope I never need assisted living but, if I do, I would choose this place!

It is a beautiful statue; I love the mixture of grey and coppery colours and the stalwart expression on the mother's face and in her stance.
