Well The Tree is decorated and I had to search for one very particular ornament. This shot happens to have three ornaments in it but the one that I was looking for is the snowman. This ornament dates back to December of 1968. I had just turned 6 years old and I was given this ornament from my Grade 1 teacher, Mrs. Rogers. She of course gave all the kids a decoration to take home eith them. This has gone on the tree every year since then and the tradition will continue for many more years to come
Nice shot and story--so great you still have this ornament! We have lots of old ones, but one of my husband's favorites from childhood was a glass Santa and it gradually crumbled.
That is so sweet! The angel that graces the top of my tree was one that my mom made for my 5th grade classroom's tree (back when we were allowed to have them here in schools). I love ornaments with stories- actually I just love ornaments! Nice shot!
we have special ornaments too - believe it or not my particular favourite is a picture of santa eating abowl of kellogs cornflakes - cut from the box one xmas when we were little and money was a bit tight - it hangs in a particular doorway every year - when we were still small we would race at the door way and jump to try to touch santa on the way past. It is a special shot and im sure you have called up memories for everyone who views this one.
you have something really special, we also have special ones every year, my fave is one that looks like santa's head, my mum got it when she was young, and it looks really old and weird now, but it has to go to the tree every year :)
I love it! Something about items from the past, they have a curtain romance about them! This is no exception! Amazing that you've managed to hold on to it for so many years!
nice to have kept it so long - I have made a whole lot of decorations with my child and others over the years and hope a lot of them are still hanging on trees around the country now (the last three years we made three different angels in one group)
Quite nice to listen to your story. it's a beautiful ornament and brings back some wonderful memories. I also was reminded of Christ-masses past and posted two pictures which tell a story. album 3.
@amyjriker I guess that sometimes you may not know the impact you have had but rest assured that you are and have touched many lives over the years I am sure of that
