Then and Now ---City Hall by bkbinthecity

Then and Now ---City Hall

Day two of my series. Today I felt it would be appropiate to Take a look back at Edmonton's City Halls. The first city hall in our history was the top floor of Firehall No. 1 That building has long since been torn down but a replica of it exists in Fort Edmonton Park. In 1913 City Hall was moved into the Civic Block. The Bottom left shot is the same building after it had bee renovated. The middle photo is the Third City Hall which opened on this exact day in 1957. It was torn down in 1989 to make way for our current City Hall ithe the pyramid which opened in 1992 and which I have featured on numerous occasions on my project
Tomorrow I will take a look at a landmark building that was demolished after a landmark decision by City Council
Great!
