Today I was unable to take in the Remembrance Day Ceremony downtown as I have in the past. However, I did make my way to Beechmount Cemetery that has one of two Military Fields of Honour here in Edmonton.
This cemetery is special to me in that my great uncle who served in the war is buried here. So this is for all of those who gave their lives so we can enjoy our freedom today and for all of those currently serving in various postions around the world
Beautiful image. Nov. 11 used to be called Armistice Day in the U.S. and now it is Veterans Day. The emphasis has shifted from those who died to all those who served.
I guess I should have said it looks cold outside. When I read it back, it didn't sound right. I'm am not the best with words. The picture doesn't look cold. The picture looks like a wonderful tribute.
@vickisfotos Appreciate that Vicki and thanks for the fav. The large photo I took because of the poppies on the graves. They were placed there by elementary students in a ceremony called No Stone Left Alone
This is just beautiful. Love how you captured the poppy flowers on each stone. Such a contrast to the grey and white. Very sentimental and moving tribute.
