Made a stop after work at the South Edmonton Delta Hotel to pay for our dinner reservation for Christmas Day. On Christmas Day it is just Melody and I with her parents. So for a number of years now we simply go out for dinner. This year we chose to make our reservations at The Top Of The Inn.
They do require that you pay in advance so we took care of that little detail today and while there I took a picture if the hotel. The restaurant is on the very top floor. Those big glass windows give diners a great view of the city
I've wanted to do what you're doing for Christmas dinner for several years..... Have Christmas here, but all go out for dinner together and come back here afterwards..... No one else will go along with it... "We have to go to your house! It's tradition", according to our grandkids. (Well,, everyone something to share for dinner, so not too bad, so...... Oh, wish you guys were down here.... We have room for more. I went to Costco yesterday and bought our turkey -- a 25 pounder...... And a local BBQ place will, for $1.00 a pound, cook it for you, carve it, and we 'll pick it up the afternoon of Christmas Eve. We decided to do it that way this year.....We'll ljust heat it for dinner. We're having anywhere from 15 to 18 here Christmas Day... family, extended family, a family of four who have joined us for Christmas for years, etc. couple friends of our kids and/or grandkids..
Wonderful shot Brian,Sounds like a good plan for christmas dinner. We are going to our daughters place where there will be grandchildren & great grandchildren. The only problem is that its 880kms away so a fair drive.
Hope you & Melody have a great christmas/new year.
There is something to be said for a pleasant, relaxing dinner out on a holiday, especially for a small group.
I'm sure the view up in that restaurant is breathtaking.
@aglennc Sounds great, and my kids say the same thing about tradition, although, they are teenagers, we do try and make small changes here and there, lol. Happy Holidays.
Just out of curiosity, how do you know how much to pay for dinner? Do you have to decide what you are going to eat on Christmas day, or is it a buffet? In any event, enjoy the view and your meal.
Hope you & Melody have a great christmas/new year.
