Early Apartment

We continue the tour by heading north to the end of the block. Here we find The Westminister Apartment Building.
Built in 1912 to help with Edmonton's booming population. 24 suites of a variety of sizes had hardwood floors and molded ceilings. It was designed for the more elite of Edmonton's population residing in the west end. In 2003 the switch was made to condos trying to attract a young professional clientele.
Such a neat looking building, lovely shot and framing.

Almost 100 years old and still looks very new and modern. Beautiful capture from this angle.

Made for the elite and remade for the elite! Lucky it wasn't full of asbestos. Maybe that was a bigger problem in USA with schools and such but lots of old brick school houses had to be basically destroyed due to how difficult it was to remove, so they couldn't remodel, but again maybe bc it was already apartments it wasn't an issue or the condos would be pricey enough and fees be high enough to make it feasible
