Walking Figures

This is one of three sculptures by Polish artist Magdalena Abakanowicz. A lot of her work was shaped by the pressures of living in Poland during WW ll.
This particular piece examines the loss of individualism and the rise of group mentality.
This work has been on loan to Edmonton and next week is on its way to Europe
Lovely shot of this wonderful and meaningful sculpture.

So thought provoking. The Polish Jews could teach us a thing or two about survival, couldn’t they?
