I was at West Edmonton Mall today when l saw this notice for something new coming this Spring.
I have never heard of the company and l have never heard of Japanese Cheesecake. I would love to know if anyone is familiar with the company or the product
We have Uncle Tetsu's in this part of the country! I haven't had the chance to try it, but I've heard really good things! We have close friends where the husband is Japanese and the wife spent years living in Japan (which is how/when she met her husband), and they are big fans of Uncle Tetsu's. I believe Japanese cheesecake is supposed to have a lighter texture and be less sweet than cheesecakes as we generally know them around here.
New to me. We have our cheesecakes and they are very delicious for those who don't care for their weight. I love the peacake version and whenever I ask Max to come with me somewhere he jumps to the occasion as we always stop for a peacake or two and a coffee.
I am, Brian. I used to teach ESL to adults, and my Japanese students introduced me to it (and to this company, which we have in Toronto). I'm actually not a fan of cheesecake, but as others have said, this is very different- quite light and fluffy and less sweet. You and Melody will definitely need to try it. I think you'll like it.
I am not familiar with either but I think I've seen it made on a cooking show. There is an Asian market nearby. I might see if they have some for sale- although it probably won't be from this chain. You will most certainly have to try it for us and let us know if it was worth waiting for!
I love cheese cake of all varieties.
