Open To The Public

This was the second school in Edmonton. As the one room schoolhouse, yesterday's post, became to small the McCay Avenue School was built in 1904 and opened in 1905. It was the first brick schoolhouse built in Edmonton.
Today it houses a museum. However, l learned that it is only opened Monday to Friday until 3pm and you need to book an appointment to actually pay a visit
Nice looking building.

Such an imposing looking building , and a good use of opening it these days as a museum, I suppose the opening hours and days are restricted due to money and staffing !

Fitting that the hours are Monday to Friday until 3. Exactly school hours. Although I find it odd that you need an appointment to visit a museum.

Great architecture. The POV almost gives a feeling of the Palace of the Winds building in India which is very shallow in depth.

A very typical look for a school of that time. Probably had a separate door for the boys and the girls.
