July Inspired 2014

We're halfway through the year and so I spent some time digging through the 365 database to see how many people that signed up around new years are still sticking with your projects. What I found was a pleasant surprise!

Over 500 people are still continuing their projects which is fabulous, 500 people who have captured 6 months of their lives, every day a new picture of what they have been doing, many days that would potentially be forgotten have now been captured and recorded forever.

But I'm no fool, and I know that it's tough to keep taking a photo every single day. That's why for July I have committed to choosing a photo each day to inspire you and encourage you to complete those next 6 months, and I'm calling it... July Inspired.

Each day (starting tomorrow) I will be posting a photo from the previous day, a photo that I personally find inspiring, it could be a great technique, a wondrous sight, a beautifully captured moment, whatever takes my fancy.

It would be a pleasure if you were to come on this 31 day journey with me throughout July, and you can follow the July Inspired photos on our...

... brand spanking new Pinterest Board (I'm new to Pinterest, so be nice)

or our beloved 365 Project Twitter Account.

Thanks, I'm happy to be one of the 500 who have stuck around. I am so delighted to have stumbled upon this site a few days before Christmas. (The OCD in me loves the fact that I was able to start on the first day of the new year, LOL!)

I have learned so much in six months, and have met (at least cyber met!) some wonderful people!

Many thanks for running this site so smoothly Ross. I joined 365 mid-January and am thoroughly enjoying the project, and the people I 'talk' to regularly. I live in southeastern Australia, but through 365 have made 'friends' all over the world and learned heaps about other countries and places. My initial reason for joining was to light a fire under my smouldering interests in photography, and to improve my eye. The project has been a roaring success on both counts. I'll be keeping a good eye on Inspiration during July. Thanks again for your time and trouble, very much appreciated.

Thanks so much for having something like this available for us all and it's not only a place to share our lives through photography but a place to make new friends too. What a wonderful added bonus. I started on 1.1.14 too. I really think this site improves peoples photography so much. I am loving the inspiration I get from others and learning so much. My hobby wouldn't be nearly so interesting without it. Can I ask a question Ross? Is there an easy way to save all of my album shots. I want to make a photobook and altough I have the shots it would take some doing to find them all. Thanks for all your work on this site Ross.

What a great idea! I have now requested to join the Facebook group and looking forward to seeing your chosen shot each day. I'm also one of the 500 who started on the 1st Jan and still going....although usually at least 5 days behind in uploading! I'm so glad I started my project as, like others, I have 'met' some wonderful, truly inspiring people and have learnt so much already...and not just about photography. It's funny, initially I wanted to make my project private as I didn't feel confident enough throwing my photos and words out into cyberspace for anyone to view or judge....however, I was quickly surprised at how much I've enjoyed the social aspect of this site and how encouraging people can be. So, thanks Ross for all your hard work in creating and maintaining this site!

@Scrivna Also, just out of interest (and because I'm a huge stats geek!) how many people started in the new year but are no longer posting?

Great idea! I'm an Ace member around since March 2011 and will be concluding my 3rd year August 12, 2014. However, I don't plan on going any where just yet and will start Year 4 on Sept 1. I love this project so much. I also post my photos on Pinterest and will follow your project there as well.

It is really good to have the chance to say to you what a great thing you have started by setting up 365. I started in the new year too and it has taken over my life, my observation and I am always learning new things and trying new things. I have even joined a photography course. There are little moments of improvement but a long way to go in my pictures; thank you for the opportunity . I found this FB site by accident. :-)
