Weekly Theme - Time Off

Congratulations Lisabell for winning the Liquid theme with the photo below.

Lisabell had the following to say about her theme choice...

Time off can mean anything from what people like to do for a hobby, where they like to go on vacation, their favorite place to hang out with friends, or what they like to do to relax.

To enter your photo for this weeks theme tag it with the tag theme-timeoff.

Entry to this theme starts on Monday 28th November and will accept entries until Sunday night (23:59 GMT 4th December). 5 finalists will be chosen next week and we'll start voting on Wednesday.

Entries must have been taken and uploaded this week only! Entries outside of the date range will not be accepted in to the final 5.

I'm amazed at how some people will not only not take advice on animal cruelty, but also delete comments that show that they are abusing an animal.

I still hope that the photographer realizes that fish are living animals too. Yes, even goldfish deserve to be treated with respect. While it's ok for it to be kept in a small container for a photoshoot. Goldfish need to have 20 gallons of water per inch of their body length in a tank over 50 gallons.

I wonder if people would think it's cute if I stuffed a dog into a little box and left it there for the rest of it's life. And if I said anything about it would go and delete my comments too.

@neda Do you not read your e-mails? I responded to your comment on my photo. I told you that this fish was only in the cup briefly before being moved to a large tank. I am an animal lover and environmentalist. You don’t even know me and you’re jumping to horrible conclusions and making offensive accusations. While it is admirable that you care about the fish, I think your approach is a bit abrasive if you’re trying to motivate someone to see things your way. I deleted your comment and my response because your message was directed at me and I had already read it and responded. I hope your rapport with animals is better than it appears to be with people.

Thanks again for jumping to conclusions and taking what was an exciting event for me and almost ruining it.

@neda you are offbase... for starters, its more like 3 gallons of water per inch of body length... but that's for a tank you are keeping it in longterm... for short term (up to 2 hours), you can keep it in a bag of water as long as you acclimate it before completely releasing it back into the tank.

If you can't be happy for the winner and say something nice... well, I'd hope you know the rest.

@lisjam1 bravo on the winning shot! I have no doubt the goldfish was not mistreated in any way.
