Thank you all for the lovely comments and all your gorgeous pictures - I may not have managed to comment on them all, but they kept me going today and brought the odd smile to my face!
What a day! Some may remember my slightly taxing quest day last Tuesday. Whatever was started there certainly continued today...threefold! How I wish I was on a paddock with a mad guard horse again.
Got up super early to get to work earlier than usual. Even providing emergency cover, having to cross a picket line is no fun. Everyone was on their best behaviour though and friendly. Whatever your view might be I don't think I've ever seen so many people genuinely conflicted and battling with their decision. This being a region where the miners strike divided families and communities emotions were running high. Spent the day mostly at my desk as there was little to do...and then spent an hour and a half in gridlock trying to catch my train so I could join the rest of my group at conference. Managed it with 5 minutes to spare! Got to Glasgow 3 hours later - only to find said room at the inn wasn't booked...major hotel f*#€ up! Finally 2 hours and one large martini later I have checked in at another hotel. This guy had exactly the same story, as did numerous others who turned up at the original inn. Travel advice: don't let anyone book you a room at Jury's Inn!
Time to catch some much needed zzzz in the hope that tomorrow will go more smoothly and that we will manage to restrain ourselves from throwing tomatoes at the Health Secretary ;-)
Oh dear what a day... thank goodness you got sorted in the end. Love the picture, I can imagine the hotel life racing by as you float with your martini....!
Love the PoV and processing in this shot
Love the Hipstamatic App!

As a Kiwi colleague of mine so eloquently puts it ... 'don't let a b*st*rd day drag you down!'
