Woke up to thick frost and fog magically transforming the landscape. The fells around the Old Man of Coniston had finally revealed themselves while the valleys were still hidden beneath a layer of frost and fog. This is more like it!! Had a wander up the road with my friend, the boys on their bikes cracking the ice on every puddle they could find before racing back down the hill. Time to say goodbye to my friend and her family unfortunately :-( Took a leisurely drive back home with lots of photo stops and a pub lunch on the way. Shame holidays have to end at some point!
Views from the top of the road at my friend's place on Saturday morning.
The Lakes is my favourite place in the UK (followed quickly by Northumberland and Cornwall!). Fav for me - such a magical scene and well captured! Fantastic you were there in such wonderful conditions (slightly jealous :o) !!)
Lovely mistyness. fav for sure - I'd best not speak to my sister this week as she was in the Lakes and was probably up one of those hills looking down at the cloud inversion which is one of my favourite things to do in life. @sparkle er hem where does the Dales come in this list??
@fueast ahem er yes it's next after the other aforementioned...in fact, the Dales is my most travelled piece of the UK at the minute because I've spent little time there so I'm probably still to see the best it can offer!!
@sparkle@fueast Lol, sorry Alison...Northumberland trumps it ;-) Juliette, we had one out of three days without rain, which is pretty good going for the Lakes methinks ;-) Thanks for the faves!!
:)
Thank you all so much for the comments! It was such a special morning, glad you enjoyed the result!
