The sun shines in and makes shadows in the dance marquee as we wait for Topette to come on stage to play for a bal at Shrewsbury Folk Festival. Photos from last weekend's fun.
A fairly good night's sleep - rather cold aircon, but a very warm duvet - followed by a rather chaotic Premier inn breakfast. A morning of shopping: outdoor shops, White Stuff and Seasalt, and charity shops (searching for disco glitter). Kept bumping into L and P as L searched for a jumper. Bought a Brasher waterproof longline jacket and a Seasalt cord jacket.
Weather dampish and some heavy rain showers later. Walked to the site for more afternoon music: a concert with Leveret, standing at the front with Jo and others and after to the rest of the bal with Oscina. Sat at the bar after in the cool late afternoon with the odd sunny spell and strummed Dave's guitar during the neighbouring session. Dave queued for basa and chips for our supper.
Grace finally arrived and did a little dancing at the Topette bal which was excellent. The only unfortunate thing was that the power went off during a chapelloise - but we kept dancing. Came back ck on soon.
Went on to Talisk but was tedious so left early to go to the Melrose Ceilidh Band - so good that even though legs were killing me with mix of dancing, standing and cold - ended up dancing last numbers. In aspirin most of the weekend.
