A piece of the Berlin Wall outside the Imperial War Museum, with graffiti by artist Jürgen Grosse.
I came here to see the exhibition Northern Ireland: Living with the Troubles, displaying images, film and testimony from all sides that experienced that most terrible period in recent history. Hard to remember but grateful that peace more or less prevails despite the fundamental issues being far from solved.
Grabbed a snack and camomile tea at a small caff opposite Elephant and Castle before getting the tube to Angel and having a look around Toast. Bought a pair of wide-leg denim trousers.
Home for a tuna pasta supper and a rewatch of excellent animation The Book of Life - a Mexican Day of the Dead fable.
Glad you all enjoyed the gin bauble image - get your own here https://jeffreyst.com/products/pickerings-gin-baubles I got them ages ago in a John Lewis sale and we fill them up every year with gins of our choice.
nice find. you could tag for the new street art challenge. Sounds like a very interesting exhibitions - which i'm sure would be very emotive. I lived in London during the late 80's early 90's and can remember things well.... colleagues being arrested for suspicion of bomb making (not far from you actually in leytonstone) .. amongst other things...
Interesting image. The NI exhibition must have been interesting. My husband was brought up in NI during the troubles. I imagine he'd find it interesting too. We've moved on, but resentment still lingers with some people.
