A bit of nailbiting during the men's road race. No medals for Team GB though despite all expectations. During bouts of decluttering, watched snippets of the race and some of the swimming this evening.
Was shattered this morning though, having not gone to bed till gone 2 after all the opening ceremony excitement - quite a headache when I woke up. We wandered over to the park which has opened after over a year's closure. Well, we weren't expecting much as it's been swarming with men in hardhats and high-viz working like billy-o these last couple of weeks - because they'd promised the park would be open in time for the Olympics. And basically what they've opened are a few walkways in between what is still a big building site - oh well. Wouldn't have minded if they'd managed something like that over the last year - rather than close the whole place. Anyway - hopefully the 'finishing touches' will be done soon ...
Then we treated ourselves to breakfast in our local greasy spoon.
Same here we have been tired all day today, cold too. We have the fire on a little tonight, only our electric summer one but when you are tired you're cold!! Great disappointment for the road race, they had such high hopes!
