Dandelions by bruni

Dandelions

Here are some interesting facts about the dandelion.
the dandelion is the only flower that represents 3 celestial bodies of the sun, moon and stars.
the flower represents the sun, the puff ball resembles the moon and the dispersing seeds resembles the stars.
every part of the dandelion is useful, root, leaves, flower and can be used for food, medicine and even dye for coloring.
do you know why the flower is called dandelion?
the name dandelion is taken from the French word “dent de lion”
meaning lion’s tooth, referring to the coarsely-toothed leaves.
dandelions have one of the longest flowering seasons of any plant.
Thank you for sharing that Bruni, they are really beautiful especially at this stage and with the evening light catching them.

Great shot, Bruni. I love the facts about them that you give. I had no idea. I always thought of them as just a weed but perhaps I have been wrong this whole time. Great detail and love the color of the puff against the green. Great job.
