Today was the first day that the apes were out on the Jungle Trail exhibit. I was lucky and was standing there when the keeper showed up. He was throwing them different kinds of nuts. The baby here is Claire. I thought she looked very young but the guy said that she is three years old! They were so much fun to watch. The keeper said that they do simple sign language and will point to body parts on command like one of our little ones will do.
Sorry I have been missing in action. I am really trying to start something here. My stuff is on anything from note cards to dart boards. I sold some note cards but that is it. It is really difficult to figure out how to market yourself.
...Don't they say that bonobo apes are our closest relatives? Great shot - can't get over how long her hands are!

Fantastic capture. Have you seen the documentary about Nimh Chimpsky, the first chimp who was taught sign language? Absolutely heartbreaking but well worth watching xx

Keep at it! You will get there.
Hey, good luck with your project. You will know just what to do!!!
