Krafna is very similar to donut- just doesnt have a hole in the middle. It's usually filled with jelly like this one, or chocolate.
And today is a day to eat "donats" It's a tradition in this area linked to carneval. It has been for generations- my grandmother used to make them every year.
So everybody is eating donats today. Kids get them in kindergarten, in school, employers give them away, every store has them on sale, you can get them for free at coffe bars, or hairdressers. I even got one after pilates class- what a paradox...
Today is a final day of carneval, or masquerade, or mardi grass, or as we call it "Fasnik". It's always a day before ash wednesday, and just before lent. We celebrate it here similar to halloween, kids dressing up etc...
And we eat donuts...
This photo is simple. A short and simple life of a donat.
