Advent in Zagreb #29 (Silent night, holly night)

In front of our cathedral is a big setup where Live nativity show goes on several times a day n this period from few days before xmas to three kings day.
It is going on for years now, I remember coming there for the first time with our older daughter while I was pregnant with another. It is great for kids. They get to sit in front of first row inside the fence. There are some animals people can pet and take pics with in the break between shows, There is always a donkey and some sheep.. It is cold so they don't leave animals out for too long. People can freely walk the set up during the day, meet actors in between the shows, warm up by the fire...
The whole thing is put up by the catholic rehab commune for drug addicts. They are the actors, and I think its a great initiative and purpose. They put a great show, they sing beautifully...
I couldn't take good photos during a show, so I put few pics from in between shows... Maybe on some other accasion I get a better pic, but tonight is the real day to post this, as an story-teller talks about a time over two thousands year ago, when three kings were looking for a star....
Merry Xmas!

Nice to hear about this.

When I lived in the village of Rockport, Massachusetts years ago, there was a Christmas pageant every year with live animals, walking along Main Street and ending on the lawn of the church in the center, where the nativity scene was enacted. They still do it every year there. Your collage reminds me of that.
