(Day 5) - A Giant Bouquet

Took a family ride off the coast of California today. Was able to photograph this interesting plant called a Giant Coreopsis. It's in the sunflower family and is native to California and Baja California. As you can see, the main trunk has a tree-like appearance and is pretty thick. Overall it resembles a large bouquet of small yellow sunflowers! The 'giant' in the name refers to the overall size of the plant, with some growing to 5 to 8 feet tall. It's a strange-looking plant with a beautiful head of hair! :)
