Today's pun on the day of the week is a bit different. I'll be naming Sunday's photo after its ice cream equivalent, the Sundae.
Although the origin of the term "sundae" is obscure, it is generally accepted that the spelling comes from the word "Sunday." The dish has also gone by other names, such as "sundi" and "sondhi." Some accounts explained that in the late 1800s, these variants were attempts to avoid offending the devoutly religious, who might not like a pile of ice cream and syrup being named after the Sabbath. In time, though, the Sundae become one of the most popular treats to eat on a Sunday.
In fact, you may notice that my sundae seems to be kind of low. I couldn't help eating some before taking the photo!! Obvious it's still a great Sunday treat! ◠‿◠
@nickspicsnz - No problem Nick! I definitely know what its like to get behind and not being able to comment on everything. Happens to me all the time! Thanks for the kind words!
