10 years of 365! Wow—I've spent almost all of my 20s posting a new photo every day. Totally worth it. Do something every day and you are bound to improve. My first photo on 365 was bacon. (Click here to view). So, I'm ending with bacon—along with other playful things that have inspired my photography! I'm such a big kid at heart.
Big thanks to all of you, my wonderful followers and others. Your kind words and even critiques drove me. The sheer positivity here is amazing. Plus, viewing your photos helps me see all the possibilities in photography! I created bright colors, learned more about black and white, even made a photo book because of you. Inspiring!
I've decided that this is my final year of posting every day. Fear not, I will still post new photos! But now, I'm gonna take my time. Without the pressure to post every day, I'll dive deeper into creative photography. For example, learning to use practical effects. I'll be sure to post my results and other amazing adventures my little friends and I will have.
This project helped me become the photographer that I am, even advancing toward a product photographer career now. I hope to continue to 'share the bacon' with all of you—to give photo tips, inspire you, learn from you, and, or course, use photography to bring a smile to your face. :)
PS: I'll be taking a little break until about March. Hope to still comment tho!
Congratulations seems inadequate for such a feat. 10 years and unwavering daily posts... wow. Congratulations squared! I am glad you will continue to post! I look so reward to seeing glimpses of your world, here and there. I love that you brought it all back around and to bacon of all things! Bacon brings all sorts of wonderful characters to the table. Best to you and thank you for the inspiration and your insight over the past few years! Be well and joy filled! Till then my friend 🥂🥓
This is a perfect way to take a moment from your project. I love seeing all the items that have been featured over the years revisited in this photo. Your tags are so inspirational, and why shouldn’t they be, you have been an inspiration to us all for so long. Enjoy your time off and come back soon!
Congratulations. That is a huge accomplishment and an inspiration to those of us starting or restarting this journey. Enjoy your break. Looking forward to what you do next. Congratulations again!
Congratulations, Chris! I've been wondering what you were going to do to celebrate ten years. And here they are, all the toys and friends and every day materials you personified and creatively photographed. The bacon party is fun, and CJ is photographing, as we would expect. It's an amazing milestone you've reached. You deserve a break and we'll all be here waiting for you to come back, refreshed and ready for more. Thanks for all the ways you've put smiles on our faces while demonstrating a range of photography techniques. Yay, Chris! 10 years!
Congrats Chris. You opened my eyes to a different kind of photography. You made me laugh so much! Send my regards to CJ, I will miss him too. Enjoy your break and till we meet again!
Sounds like a smart decision. I will look forward to your postings whenever. You give me ideas for creative and different shots as well. Enjoy your time off.
Chris, i have only followed you for a brief time, but boy was that a joy! It is amazing when i see people here posting for 9-10-11 years.
Of course these are the people with the best photographs. Even if one doesn't plan to learn in all this time, one will improve.
Good luck in your next pursuits! Keep up the spirit and see you around!
Oh no say it ain’t so! 😳Well, if you must. I’ve enjoyed all of your photos from probably the past year (I started in 2019 so I haven’t seen your earlier photos). So I guess I will have to go backwards and check those out! 👀
Going forward Chris stay true to yourself and best of luck with the next stage in your photography. I will be looking forward to seeing you here again. 😊
@elatedpixie - Thank you so much for the big congratulations! Thanks for all your all your kinds words over the years. I'm glad you've enjoyed all the adventures...so far! By the way, you're getting closer to 10 years too! Regardless if you go that long or not, wishing you all the best in your fun photography as well. I'll try to be around to check out more of it too. Also, yes I agree, the power of bacon is an amazing thing! :P
@jacqbb - Thank you Jacqueline for this and all the other comments you ever left me. Always so encouraging, I'll definitely be back. I wish you all the best on your yearly goals. You'll get that manual mode down eventually! I still hover around aperture priority mode but have been dabbling in full manual a bit. Maybe we'll both get it this year. :)
@grammyn - So fun that you recognized some of the items. We've been apart of each other projects for a while. Whenever I think of my 365 journey I think about all the uplifting comments you've left me through the years, even through my tough 2018 when I was uploading in batches and you'd comment at the end of the week on them. I'm so happy I've been an inspiration and you've been one to me too. Your photos and words have a great calming effect. Now I hope to be around to comment a bit more, haha. :)
@njmom3 - Thank you so much, Nada!! I'm happy to know that my project is an inspiration to you and others. I know you recently restarted your project and learned so much from being here a few years ago. Can definitely see how this project helps us improve, your scenes have amazing pop to them! :)
@sunnygirl - Thank you, Mallory! Always glad to know I've continued to accomplish my goal of giving smiles. Whether you realize it or not, I've always been inspired by your work. I look over your months and smile from all the amazing colors and subjects you find. Keep up the great work! :)
@jyokota - Aww thanks Junko, I've always appreciate your detailed comments over the years. In fact, I love that capturing excellent details permeates through your photography too. Funny enough, never thought I'd be one to be good enough to demonstrate photography techniques to others—especially when I felt so young and inexperienced. But the encouragement from people like you really boosted my self-confidence and I throughly enjoy learning and sharing photo techniques. Still much more for CJ and I to learn and share! Once again, thank you! :)
@kjarn - Thank you, Kathy!! I'm so happy you've enjoy all my wacky adventures. You're on or have passed your 10th year too, right? Congratulations to you too! :)
@dutchothotmailcom - It makes me smile so much to know that this kind of photography gave you laughs! Your style of photography inspires me too! You're so good at capturing wildlife, sometimes makes my mouth drop in the scenes you snap. Thank you much for all your kind words, Esther...and CJ gives a big thank you too! :)
@thewatersphotos - Thank you, Gary!! Your words, as always, are super encouraging. I'll keep working hard to improve in creative photography even more. Looking forward to continue to view yours too. As a city boy, it's always fun to get a look into the beauty of the countryside. Especially loved your fishing series. Now, I wanna try fishing! :)
@marlboromaam - Thanks a ton, Maggie! It's wonderful to have you back here during my 10th year as you were one of my earliest followers around my 2nd or 3rd year. Thanks for all the fun comments over the years and wishing you all the best on your current project. :)
@cjphoto I sincerely believe you have a book to put together. You've got all the visuals, the purposeful notes on what you are demonstrating, and the organization skills to go from your spreadsheets and put it all into a book. I'll be first in line to buy a copy -- a signed, copy please :)
Thank you, yes I started October 2010 so into my 11th year although there's nothing creative about my shots and 80% aren't taken on the day of posting.
@amyk - Thank you, Amy!! I really appreciate all your wonderful comments over my 365 projects. It'll be nice to take my time on new photo ideas when I return. Wishing you all the best on your project, especially your amazing wildlife photos! :)
@shutterbug49 - Thanks so much, Ms Shutterbug. I'm looking forward to take a little more time on my ideas. I've very happy to hear my shots gave you ideas too! Even with that, you do so well with different angles and colors of your subjects! :)
@monikozi - Thanks!!! It was great having you on the tail end of my 365 journey, Moni! Also, thanks again for all your selfie inspiration!! Not sure when I'll make another one but at least your work gave me a tad more courage. :)
@gapandgain - Thank you much, Van! It does feel weird not posting something every day but will have fun with upcoming ideas. Thanks for your wonderful support and the fun emojis. 😁
@merrelyn - Thanks so much for these kind words and for all your comments throughout my projects, Merrelyn! Btw, always love your bold colors and calming photos. :)
@monicac - It was very delicious!! Thanks very much!! Really enjoyed having you along my 365 journey, Monica. Thanks for all your encouraging comments.
@jb030958 - Thanks so very much, Jennie!! Oh 2019, that means you joined on board during the Year of the Legographer. That was such a blast, thanks for all your fun comments and support then and now. I really appreciate your kind words of encouragement for the future too. All the best on your monthly theme of hearts and whole project! :)
@jyokota - That's so nice!! Well I have my Paperclip Family book complete or are you referring to like more of a photo technique book? That would be tons of work but a lotta fun too. We'll see what happens! So sweet of you to support it like that, thanks!
@kjarn - Woo-hoo, 11 years. Great job!! You're more creative than you think, especially in sharing your wonderful photos of your grandkids, capturing them in action or being goofy. Like the shot of them all side by side, tallest to smallest...you were creative and didn't even know it. Haha. In any case, as long as we keep having fun, our little moments of creativity will show. All the best on your month of hearts! :)
@cjphoto I immediately went on Amazon to see if I could purchase your paperclip family book but didn't find it. But yes, I was thinking of a technique book.
@farmreporter - Thank you so much Wendy!! I really appreciate your wonderful words of encouragement all these years on my project. All the best as your project (and gardening) continues too! :)
Congratulations Chris that's a phenomenal acheivement. You have a creative flair that will take you far in a career in photography. I always enjoy seeing CJs adventures - your images consistently brighten up my day and I look forward to seeing your future posts :)
@4rky - Thanks a ton!!! It's so encouraging to read how my photos brighten your day. I always enjoy when you stop by and for all your kind words. Also really like your profile pic!
Congratulations on an amazing accomplishment! Phew, I was worried you weren't coming back at all. The Lego Photo and CJ Fan Club would be terribly disappointed! You've earned the break! I remember the shirt and tie series- loved that one- and Fred, and the dino plus all those candies! Looking forward to your return but for now we'll just applaud and remember all those years you graced us with your amazing creativity!
@bkbinthecity - Sorry for the late reply, but thank you very much Brian and Melody! Thanks for all the times you popped in on my project with your kind words. I always enjoy doing the same on your album too. :)
@tonygig - Thank you so much, Tony!! Thanks for your always positive comments and for sharing so many wonderful photos from your garden. Still really enjoying them! :)
@aikiuser - Thanks a ton for all your views and comments, Jenn!! It feels so weird not posting every day after I've done this for so long. I hope to have even more fun photos in the works soon! :)
@olivetreeann - Sorry for the late reply but thank you so much Ann!!! Very happy those series of photos proved to be entertaining and memorable. I always get a kick out of your series too! Really appreciate having you part of my projects over the years, your spunk and your kind comments have always been really endearing to me. :)

Going forward Chris stay true to yourself and best of luck with the next stage in your photography. I will be looking forward to seeing you here again. 😊
But good to know that a technique book would be something you all would be interested in. We shall see! :)
